Manager: Dragan Stojković

Key Player: Aleksander Mitrović
Best Finish: Chile 1962 (4th)
2022 World Cup group: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon
All though Serbia won’t be at the forefront of everybody’s minds to be successful at this World Cup, the Nation will be looking favourably upon their team to make them proud. Serbia haven’t made it out of the group stage in this competition since 1998.
With some brilliant players such as Aleksander Mitrović who recently netted his 50th goal for his country, Dušan Vlahović who has had a good start in the Serie A with Juventus, and mention playmaker Sergej Milinković-Savić who has been a huge contributor to Lazio’s current 4th place spot in the Serie A.
Looking at their group, they face up against Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon. With Brazil obviously being the favorites to top this group, the Eagles will definitely fancy their chances of clinching that second place qualification spot and pushing on into knockout football.
Serbia’s history in the World Cup is not only their history, but also the Former Republic of Yugoslavia’s history as they took on their records following the dissolvement of the Soviet republic. From the mid 50s to early 60s, Yugoslavia enjoyed some success with two quarter final finishes and a 4th place finish. They will look to hopefully build in these in Qatar next month.
