Manager: Czesław Michniewicz

Key Player: Robert Lewandowski

Best Finish: Third Place (1974 & 1982)

World Cup Group: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland

An ageing Robert Lewandowski will be the main talking point going into Qatar 2022 for the Polish national team. With 76 goals in 134 games, it’s easy to see why. He is quite simply the best Polish player to have ever lived, and this will more than likely be his final World Cup at the age of 34. Nine goals in nine games in qualifying for this winter’s competition tell that he is showing no sign of slowing down either.

However, Lewendowski isn’t the only Polish man performing in the 2022/23 season, I’d like to cast your attention to Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski, who has notched up 10 goal involvements in 13 games in all competitions this season. Playing in behind the striker or as an eight, whether it’s Victor Osimhen or Giovanni Simeone, Zielinski has been on fire for the Naples side this season.

With players like Fabianski, Bednarek and Matty Cash at the back, an organised defence with Zielinski playing off of Lewandowski should see the Polish aiming to get out of the group.
