Having finished second best in Russia 2018 to France, Croatia will be looking to go one better.

Croatia experienced heartbreak last time around after an inspiring run to the final, it was their best ever World Cup finish and their run to the final was no easy feat. They beat Lionel Messi’s Argentina comfortably in the group stage and progressed past the hosts Russia and had a memorable victory against the Three Lions.

They are coming off the back of an impressive qualifying run to Qatar and will fancy their chances of topping their group. Belgium will be their main challangers for topping the group, with possibly their last chance with their current brilliant generation of players it is a game to look out for.

Stand out players from their previous World Cup run Mordić and Perišić will be leading the team, but accompanied by exciting players such as Josko Gvardiol who will be looking to lead from the back.

It will be a tournament for The Vatreni to transition into a new generation of players. They will be transitioning from having legendary goal scorer Mario Mandžukić, and Luca Modrić will be closing out an amazing international career with a final World Cup effort.
