Brazil goes into the world cup as definite members of the top three favourite teams to go on and win the whole thing. They are the most decorated international team when it comes to the world cup and as we all know steeped in history.
With all the previous success of this proud footballing nation, they haven’t won the tournament in 2 decades and will be looking to set aside their recent history in Qatar.
There are so many eye-catching players who strengthen this squad, such as in form Gabriel Martinelli with high-flying Arsenal in the Premier League, and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior. Not to mention debatably the 2 best goalkeepers in the Premier League with Alisson Becker and Ederson.
The main man for the Selecao is undoubtedly their talisman Neymar jr. Going into his third World Cup, he is already a Brazilian legend, but has never won the tournament and will want to bring the beautiful game back to his home country to cement his place alongside other Brazilian football royalty. He will also be thinking about equalling Pele’s record as the top goal scorer for Brazil being only 2 off his record. It’s entirely possible that Qatar will be his last World Cup being aged 30.
They will be confident about progressing through to the round of 16 being heavy favourites in their group.
